Age of Empires: World Domination Review
Age of Empires: World Domination is a free-to-play mobile strategy game based on the classic PC RTS series from Microsoft. It has been soft launched on Android devices along with iOS devices in select countries, and it's available to download now via the Google Play Store or iTunes.
The premise is simple: Build an empire from the ground up and expand through time. The game uses the same base building mechanics as Clash of Castles or Boom Seige, allowing players to develop their base by constructing structures and recruiting troops.
This gameplay has been around for a while, but the latest version of Age of Empires: World Domination takes it a step further by adding real-time battles. It also lets you choose from a variety of heroes, including Joan of Arc, King Arthur, Oda Nobunaga, Cao Cao, and Knut the Great.
It is free to play, but you can purchase upgrades and supplies that will increase your power in the game. These can be used to speed up the construction of new buildings, improve capacities, and more.
In addition to the standard game mechanics, World Domination adds a real-time battle system that takes place in two separate windows. Users can build buildings, recruit troops, and harvest resources within the empire window, and then they can move to the battle screen to conduct combat.
This is the first mobile version of the classic game, and it does a good job of reimagining the gameplay. It's not as polished as Crusader Kings III or Stronghold Crusader II, but it is a solid choice for those who enjoy the genre and want to play a traditional RTS on their phone.
